What is Esoteric Acupuncture Anyway?

“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” Lao Tzu

I asked myself this question many times since I heard the phrase, “Esoteric Acupuncture.”

I certainly don’t remember ever hearing about this practice when I was getting my Master’s Degree in Acupuncture or maybe I didn’t hear it because I wasn’t ready for the understanding.  Certainly I believe and was taught in Chinese Medicine that there is no separation between body, mind, spirit.

For me,  Esoteric Acupuncture is an approach to energy work to expose the spiritual “dis-ease” that is the basis of the majority of our human ills.  This type of acupuncture heals the physical body by healing the energetic body or Subtle Body.  Bringing in the perfect imprint of the subtle body to that of the physical.

Discovery

Well, was I ready for this?  No.  How this Spirit of Knowledge came to me was purely not of this realm.  Sitting in my small living room with my sister.  She felt a presence and she said to me, “Why don’t you ask the new pendulum that I got you who is here.”  So I asked, “Is this mom? Is this Dad?” and the pendulum just kept quivering, not saying either yes or no.  Out of the blue, I asked, “Is this Lao Tzu?”  The pendulum started swinging yes, practically flipping over.

I just stared at it unbelieving, laughing, knowing somewhere deep inside me it was true. My sister said, “Ask him if he’s here to help you with your acupuncture.  I bet he is, ask him!”   I gave her the “this is too much” look but I asked, “Are you here to help me with my acupuncture?”  Again the pendulum swung yes in a manner that mde me just want to drop it and walk away.

This was all too much.  It was my sister who, totally believing in me and my abilities, convinced me that I could do acupuncture long distance.  After all it is energy work, right?

“Oh yeah, right.”  Acupuncture is all about being with a person, touching the Qi points, feeling the energy, putting in the needle.  How can you do Acupuncture without a person in your presence?

Practice Makes Perfect

Well as a year went by, I practiced on my sister, she in Maryland and me in Wyoming.  I learned to energetically go to her, feel into the energy, put needles in the points energetically and ask Lao Tzu to come through the crystal and silver pendulum and help lead me to what to do.

All of a sudden I began to see a synchronicity of books, articles and magazines on Esoteric Acupuncture and Ancient Chinese Medicine Secrets everywhere. I have listed a few in Resources below. I read and began to feel validated, to feel that I already knew this information on a spiritual level.  I read the books with a sense of “Oh, I know this already and I do this already!”

And believe me, I didn’t know what I was doing, couldn’t explain it in words and it was working!

In the next blog post “Hey, Did that Really Happen?” I will give examples and experiences of Esoteric Acupuncture I give in-person and those experiences that are performed long distance.
